about

This is an old hillbilly song I learned from listening to The Holy Modal Rounders who were a big influence and galvanized me to start playing songs on the accordion. I wrote a verse for our version of the song. It was recorded in the living room at our old house on Walnut Street on a 4-track cassette player. My daughter Chloe, who was 3 or 4 at the time, was sleeping so we leaned a mattress against her bedroom door for soundproofing. I recall that some whisky may have flowed that evening.
